DATA AND CONTEXT

Historical evidence on export continuity.

F01

Across seven countries studied by ECLAC, fewer than half of small and medium-sized businesses remained exporters after the first year. By the fifth, the share ranged from 5.7% to 24%.

For an entry decision, the finding shifts attention from launch to continuity: channels, pricing, delivery and commercial presence must hold after the first sale.
